Having a psychotic episode? Can't tell your oblate cranium from a waking coma? Panspermia got you down? Never fear, Dr. Scully's here to answer your medical terminology questions!

What You'll Find Here

This site contains medical terms used in episodes of The X-Files (and the movie) ONLY! OK, there are a couple of exceptions, but not many. Use the menu at the left to locate terms alphabetically or by episode within season. Use the search engine at the top of each page to find a specific word or term.

What You WON'T Find Here

With very few exceptions you won't find terms that have not been used in SPOKEN dialogue in an episode of The X-Files, or in The X-Files: Fight the Future. Any terms that only appeared in print, or were inferred, will not be listed here unless it is vitally important to the episode.

Spoilers! I love them, but I know others don't so they won't be listed here. The page for Season 8 does list episode titles as they become available, but that's really just a mechanism to aid the lousy memory of the webmistress ;) I find that 1013's titles almost never give you a real clue to what the episode's about, anyway.

Your Opinions and Comments Are Important!

If we've missed anything, or you just have a medical term you'd like defined, feel free to drop us a note at askdrscully@askdrscully.com.
